Hi! I'll most likely be joining a plush panel on a mlp conference in the start of next year. I have no experience with panels and saw you did panels before. Do you have any tips for me? :3

I've never got to do a joint plush panel, but I can tell you what I've learned form paneling.
Always know your subject matter, I make an outline of what I want to cover, and try to follow it closely. I use a power point too. Make sure to put any questions, and games at the end of the panel. People will leave if they only came for the prize. Questions at the end so that way you makes sure to cover everything you wanted.

Now, it's important when you are doing a panel the people are there for the knowledge, but you need to be a character, so entertaining. After all a panel is a type of show, and you don't want to be like those monotone teachers.
I try to be energetic, silly, and confident. If I mess up, I will make a joke about myself and move on. This is the art of staying professional. I did have and assistant to help keep the panel moving too. It nice to have someone to make jokes with.

Over all, if you are normally shy, don't think of the people you are taking to as strangers, think of them as friends, the fans they are normally forgiving. Don't be afraid to go over something you forgot to put on the outline. Also if it's a pg panel, be weary of your language, I don't cuss, so it's easy for me to follow that, but if you swear in a pg panel, you may not be able to do it again the next year, I have a friend that was banned  for that.

I'm not sure what else to mention, let me know if you need to me to talk more over something.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such an extensive answer.

Those are all really helpful tips. I especially didn't think of having an assistant with me, that's great idea. It will be a joint panel, but I might be doing a presentation aswell, so I'll take this all to heart. And I like the idea of giving away a price at the end!

Thanks again and I might have to bug you again closer to the panel date ^_^ Tight Hug

No problem, I love to help when I can.

I find it best promotes your work when you give one of your personal creations away. For me a panel is a chance to share my knowledge, and to help promote my business. Not to mention the plush you gave away can lead to a lot of future business opportunities. My last plush I gave in a panel was taken to Midwest Brony Feast and I got a lot of contact, cause the girl who won her placed her all weekend at the info desk. You never know who might win. ^W^

Also with giveaways, I like to do tickets. You know the double roll type where they keep one, and drop the other in the hat, but it's hard to keep people form sneaking an extra ticket in.
The first time I did it I had a quiz and the frist person to raise their hand and correctly answer wins. It wasn't bad, but can lead to a lot of confusion if you can't remeber the 2nd person to raise their hand.
I've seen one panel that had tons of strips of paper that they request someone to write their full name, and place in a hat too. Though that one took a lot of time for the panel to start, which is why the ticket one is better. Though I did pasted the tickets out when the people were coming in the room, it would be best once everyone is seated. So no tricky is afoot.

P.S. it fun to give out little prizes too. I bought a bunch of these "1 bit" Coins and did small trivia. Though makesure you work what you want to do with the other you are working with. 1 hour goes by really fast. Also do not do drawings for small prizes like this. People tend to roll their eyes, cause it is really silly to do. ^^ll I got this far form trial and error.
